Leif Erickson Tunnel

1500 foot long tunnel, included installation of multiple automated control systems. The Leif Erickson Tunnel project incorporated unique electrical technology including and air exchange system with four 100 horsepower fans, a carbon monoxide detection system, remote communications, fire alarm and an emergency telephone network.

The double-barrel tunnel design required a lighting control system consistent of almost 1200 light fixtures, 6000 feet of stainless steel cable tray and 179 miles of cable. Conduit and raceway is recessed in the concrete walls and ceilings to maintain aesthetic appeal.
