Sahuarita High School

The Sahuarita-Walden Grove High School is a new high school with a total of 131,170 sq ft in three buildings on a 34 acre campus. Parsons provided a complete turnkey electrical and low voltage system. Parsons performed all of the offsite utilities, including primary and secondary power with transformers and switches, in cooperation with Tucson Electric Power. A highlight of this project is a complex Emergency Lighting and Lighting Control System. The entire campus emergency lighting is run off several battery inverters. The Lighting Control System integrates with the battery inverters and also provides energy efficient daylight-sensor and occupancy controlled systems. A Musco lighting system was installed for the tennis courts. The power distribution throughout the campus is a Single SES facility with all buildings and HVAC systems fed by compact aluminum feeder wire, saving cost on the project versus current copper costs. Parsons Technologies completed the entire voice/data, paging, and sound system networks of the facility, and assisted the engineer in designing the sound system for the added dance and theater rooms.
